We acquire majority ownership in established small to medium Australian businesses and build them for the long term. By combining patient capital, strong leadership, and disciplined execution, we secure business legacies while creating enduring value.

WHAT WE LOOK FOR
We seek established Australian businesses with strong foundations and clear opportunities for growth, with the following characteristics.

Scale - A track record of profitability, typically generating $2 - 8 million of EBIT and $10 - 80 million of revenue.

Market position - Sustainable earnings, defensible competitive advantages, and clear growth potential.

Leadership - Strong teams already in place, or the ability to install new leadership without disrupting the business.
These are our general guidelines for new platform investments. We remain flexible and will consider opportunities outside these parameters - particularly for add-on acquisitions for existing portfolio companies - and assess each business on its merits.

Will Charlston spent more than a decade with leading global financial and accounting organisations prior to establishing Seneca Capital. He was an Executive Director at Goldman Sachs where he evaluated investment opportunities across a range of industries - including transport, infrastructure, engineering and consumer goods - with a primary focus on Australian companies. Prior to Goldman Sachs, he worked in the Audit and Assurance division at KPMG.
Will holds Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Economics degrees from the University of Queensland, and is a Chartered Accountant and a CFA Charterholder.
SIMON KEMP | PARTNER

Prior to Seneca Capital, Simon Kemp spent more than a decade in management consulting, finance and accounting in Australia and the United States. He was a Director at Alvarez & Marsal in the United States as part of their turnaround and restructuring practice. There he worked hand in hand with numerous clients to restore and improve the fiscal and operational health of the companies. Prior to Alvarez & Marsal, Simon worked at KPMG in their Corporate Finance division.
Simon holds Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Economics degrees from the University of Queensland and is a Chartered Accountant.
